Stringer’s Gym offers an exciting blend of group exercise classes taught by highly motivated individuals.

Strength from within, leads to pride throughout

Intervals – 45 and 55 mins classes: This class is split into three parts- cardio, upper body and lower body. Each section is intense and based on interval style training  This class is aimed at those wanting to get lean and improve fitness. Both body weight and dumbbells are used for a wide variety of exercises.

Total Body Pump – This 45 minute addictive workout challenges all of your major muscle groups by using a blend of the best gym exercises including squats, pressing and pulling movements. Using high repetitions and light weights, this class will help you to achieve a more toned and healthy body.

Hour of Power (HOP) – This is a revolutionary new class where participants will be pushed to their individual limits! Learn how to channel complete focus into your workout. HOP is a progressive class that aims to increase the participant’s upper body until it matches the lower body’s capabilities. Using both body weight and dumbbells you are constantly working the entire body, moving smoothly from one exercise to the next with barely, if any rest. Great for all levels of fitness and experience as you are be encouraged to work hard but within your own capablities.

P90X-45-55 mins:  The P90X workout system is an advanced training technique called Muscle Confusion, which accelerates the results process by constantly introducing new moves and routines so that your body never plateaus, and you never get bored! Whether you want to get lean, bulk up, or just plain get ripped, there’s an endless variety of ways we can mix and match the routines to keep you motivated in each and every workout!

Flexibility and core strength is fundamental.

PiYo-60 mins: This isn’t like standard Pilates and yoga classes that make you hold long, intense poses, or lead you through dozens of repetitive, microscopic core movements. PiYo speeds everything up—including your results—by introducing you to dynamic, flowing sequences that can burn serious calories at the same time as they lengthen and tone your muscles and increase your flexibility.

Core -30 mins: Intense core work. During this session you will work your entire core incorporating mat work and fit balls! This class is for all fitness levels and is a great way to fit  a quick but challenging workout into your busy day.

TRX  – 30 mins: Suspension training using your body’s own resistance. This class is as challenging as you make it with progressions and regressions depending on your own ability.

Yoga with Laura – Vinyasa is synchronising breath and movement to create a dynamic flow of yoga postures, suitable for beginners and intermediate. My classes can be as challenging as you make them, with options to make the poses a little more difficult through out the class. This makes the class available to those who have never tried yoga and those who are keen to further their practice. We keep the space light hearted so expect a few giggles as we breathe through balances and sweat through revolves, bring a friend and an open mind!

Yoga and Pilates with Alex.

Alex is a qualified Pilates and Hatha Yoga Instructor, specialising in common orthopaedic conditions, having changed her career from a lawyer back in 2013.

The most rewarding aspects of her teaching is hearing how much better and ‘taller’ students feel after her class.

Helping students to adopt a deeper sense of well-being and balance in our ever-changing world is the main focus in Alex’s classes.

40 Plus and 50 Plus  – 45 mins: A class created for the over 40’s and 50’s. If you feel that you need a little pick me up to gain more energy, tone the body and lose weight whilst increasing your fitness and have fun doing it, then this class is perfect for you!  The session offers you the chance to work your whole body through a circuit style format but at a pace that suits you. Increase bone density and improve your functionality and strength whilst having fun in an inviting environment.


Discipline and perfection – Eye of the tiger

Cardio Kickbox – 45 mins: An action-packed workout that combines a series of punching and kicking movements. This class improves strength, muscle tone and endurance. It’s an intense workout for the participant who wants a challenge.

Fighting fit – 45 mins: Fitness for fighting. A circuit style blend of many different fighting related exercises and drills. Incorporating the bag, battle ropes, skipping and some TRX. Participants will also pair up to perform some pad work. This class packs a real punch!

Strong heart, Strong body, Strong mind

Spinning – 45 mins: Group cycling classes combine interval based cycling drills with music to create challenging workouts for participants of all fitness levels.



Spin and Strength – 45 mins: This is a best of both worlds class, starting with 20 min spinning followed by a 20 min reps based total body dumbbell workout.

Spin + Abs – 30 mins: A high intensity session using sprints and breakaways to really get your heart pumping, followed by a 15 mins abdominal workout.

Circuits–  A  challenging workout which combines cardio and resistance training. Push ups, ab curls, burpees and mountain climbers to name but a few of the exercises. This class is structured upon timed intervals.



Bootcamp-60 mins:  This class is designed to build strength (not bulk) and fitness through a variety of intense group intervals over a 1-hour period of time, outside!  A great way to get fitter and leaner. Ideal for everyone as each class can offer a variety of exercises and levels of intensities.

We were all beginners at one time.


Beginners Spin – 30 mins: Learn how to set yourself up properly and safely, on the bike. You will be taught the different hand and seat positions required during class, followed by a shorter version of a regular spin class incorporating, flats, hills sprints and breakaways.

If you are  a total beginner to exercise classes or just a little bit “rusty” and apprehensive to coming to a class  then speak to one of the team, there are always alternatives to what we advertise and we can create a program to get you ready for a particular class. We are here to help you achieve!
